Spiderman 3, the new movie, opened yesterday and has broken all North American records for previous movie releases with a tidy $59m, even beating last summers “Pirates” flick that opened with $58.5m. Will this be the best of the bunch? Not according to the reviews. It has been panned by many critics, including the Washington Post and the NY Post. Newsweek gave it a thumbs up, being one of the more favorable reviews.

The running time is an extra, extra long 2 hours 40 min and we all know what a pain in the arse it can be to sit still for that long. With a massive shooting budget of a cool $350m I guess you try to jam as much content in as you possibly can. That doesn’t necessarily mean a great movie though.

An Evil Six Exclusive

In this modern day, politically correct world, we’re quickly running out of subjects to safely make fun of without someone getting upset or taking offense. To help make up for it, Evil Six.com was created to help fill that vacuum by bringing alternative news, articles, images, products and movie reviews all revolving around making fun of the subject of evil. Recently, Evil Six has come across an historical archive of rare photos of Hitler doing things that you wouldn’t normally expect. Hitler is one of the few remaining “safe” subjects that we can lampoon, everyone hates Hitler, right? If you don’t, well then that’s just too bad.

Amy Winehouse and Kelly Osbourne have declared that they are now members of an exclusive club called “Team Evil” because they like to go around “causing trouble”. If drug and alcohol problems, tattoos, multiple piercings, wild hairdos, and temper tantrums make you evil then apparently 50% of Hollywood is a team member as well. Evil wannabes is more like it. Kelly’s legendary dad, Ozzy Osbourne, the official “Prince of Darkness”, is a pretty good example but he has some very large boots to fill. I seriously doubt if these two can ever match Ozzy’s crazy train ways.

I suggest they start off slow till they get the hang of it, maybe get busted for graffiti or knocking over a few mailboxes, then graduate up to drunk driving. Work your way up to assault and battery on paparazzi and fellow party goers, because a few arrests and some jail time always helps to promote your evil reputation. Top it off by chowing down on live animals on stage and exposing yourselves in public.

Hugh Grant, 46, movie star and celebrity was arrested on suspicion for hurling a tub of baked beans and kicking at a photographer named Ian Whittaker near his home in London. He was released on bail after voluntarily turning himself in for questioning over the alleged incident. He has to return to the Notting Hill police station in a month to continue the investigation into the incident.

This may be a “warm-up” for Grants possible appearance as an evil villain in the TV series “Doctor Who”. It’s been confirmed that he is in talks for a possible role in an upcoming episode. He once turned down an offer to play the lead role of the Doctor in the long running sci-fi classic about a time and space traveling “Time Lord”. The lead Time Lord role has been played by quite a few different people over the years with the most famous one being Tom Baker who played the fourth doctor from 1974 to 1981.

Grant said: “I was offered the role of the Doctor a few years back and was highly flattered. The danger with those things is that it’s only when you see it on screen that you think, ‘Damn, that was good, why did I say no?’ But then, knowing me, I’d probably make a mess of it.” “I’m in talks about a one-off role. I’d prefer to be a baddie. They’re always more fun.”

And lets not forget about Grants incident with the hooker Divine Brown where he was caught in the act and plead guilty to a misdemeanor lewd act in 1995, sentenced to two years probation and a fine. Maybe this is a return to his bad boy, evil roots of his younger days.

Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale star in this low-budget thriller that will have you biting your nails during parts of the flick and going “ho-hum” at others. The movie’s premise has tons of potential for an engaging horror/snuff flick but the somewhat predictable plot will leave you wondering why they didn’t take it any further.

The story finds the two main characters stuck on a lonely back road with a broken down car and they end up staying at a flea-bag called the Pinewood Motel. Everything seems just a bit suspicious and off kilter as they check in and try to relax for the remainder of the night. Almost immediately they begin to realize that they’ve checked in to something like the Bates Motel from Psycho after popping a video in the room’s VCR and seeing strange people being brutally murdered, right in the very room they’re staying in. It’s not long before they realize that their every move is being filmed.

Too bad it didn’t really go anywhere, because I’m a big fan of Kate Beckinsale and fell in love with her in her two ultra-vampy Underworld movie appearances. I really wanted to love this one but I was a bit disappointed in the end. Not that the acting was bad, in fact the main characters were very well done and acted with just enough background information to make you care about what happens to them. The writing and story just makes you wonder what the hell happened to the rest of the movie?

Would I recommend going out to see this movie? No, not really, do yourself a favor and wait till it comes out on DVD.

“Curse the Children, Make Them Cry” is the title of Alec Baldwins new horror flick. It’s a one man show starring Alec Baldwin making a total ass of himself. The cast features thousands of young girls running and screaming and crying to their mothers as Alec unleashes volcanic tirades of verbal abuse and threats, crushing the feelings of the innocent.

Although the film was made on a relatively low budget, the director, Alec Baldwin himself, insisted that “only real tears” be used for the sake of realism and accuracy. Over 5,000 gallons were used in the production which took several months to collect.

Nearly 2 tons of onions were peeled by 125 extras in preparation for the shoot and the real tears were kept in a specially cleaned and prepared 18 wheeler tanker truck. This reportedly sent the movie slightly over budget, with the real costs only beginning to be felt in his pocketbook.

So far the movie has gotten very mixed reviews, with emotions ranging from “hating it” to “it totally sucks ass” to “what an evil bastard” although it has garnered lots of attention in the press. Only time will tell!

Some people may have thought they were the victims of an evil prank after dialing a phone number to get reports on sexual predators moving into their neighborhood. Instead of getting the predator hotline, they were connected to a live sex chat service. The mistake was made when misprinted cards were passed out urging residents of Nassau County New York to call in and ask to be notified by the hotline.

A recorded voice offered this greeting to callers: “Hey there, sexy guy, Welcome to an exciting new way to go live, one on one, with hot horny girls waiting right now to talk to you.”

The number was listed as a 1-800 when 1-888 would have been correct. No word was given on whether or not the sex chat line gained any new customers from the error.

Stephen Tramontana, an independent film maker is claiming that Quentin Tarantino has ripped him off on the idea for Grindhouse with a feature he made in 2002, also named “Grindhouse”. He has put up a website called www.therealgrindhouse.com with an explanation of why he thinks Quentin ripped his idea. Here’s the original movie trailer from the film that Stephen made on a tiny budget of $4,000. Check it out and judge for yourself, in my opinion it doesn’t appear that the movies are anything alike. And as far as I’m aware it’s not possible to copyright the name of a movie, Hollywood has a well documented history of creating entirely different movies that use the exact same title.

Heading out on a vampire hunt? Then you’ll surely need one of these handy, authentic vampire slaying kits from the 19th century. Some of the earliest ones were originally constructed by a man named Ernst Blomberg and included a number of “traditional” tools needed to efficiently dispatch even the most vile of vampires. Hardware could include items like wooden stakes and a mallet, a black powder pistol with silver bullets, holy water, a crucifix, bible and other supposedly holy objects and icons to help ward off evil and hypnotic spells used by vampires.

One of these kits recently appeared on eBay but the auction was pulled because of the weapons included. If you have an “authentic” kit, it could be worth a bundle, one of these kits sold on Sothebys for $12,000 and another for $20,300 recently. Of course, it would be buyer beware, I don’t believe it would be very difficult to fake the construction of one of these kits. If you’re into vampire lore and have a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket this could be the perfect item to top off your collection.
